Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County Justices of the Peace have temporarily stopped some eviction proceedings until the middle of June. The moratorium applies to eviction proceedings filed after March 27. The earliest any of those eviction cases will be heard will be June 15. That’s when state rules will allow courts to re-open to hear cases in person. So far the temporary evictions stop only applies to Dallas County. The Texas-wide moratorium on evictions has expired, which means landlords may now post notices of eviction, and actual removals may resume on Tuesday.
