Anonymous Tip Leads to Arrest of Suspected Parker County Car Thief

PARKER COUNTY  (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Parker County man suspected of stealing several cars is behind bars thanks to an anonymous tip.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said 29-year-old Braxton Lee Manley was arrested after the department’s auto theft investigator Scott Masters, assigned to the Tarrant Regional Auto Crimes Task Force, recovered several cars in Horshoe Bend reported stolen out of the county and Lake Worth.

According to the department’s statement, the tipster told detectives that Manley was allegedly in possession of a stolen truck.

When detectives arrived at Manley’s home in the 7300 block of Hopi Trail in Weatherford, they found two cars reported stolen out of Lake Worth.

Sheriff’s Patrol deputies also found another truck abandoned in Brock on I-20 that was also believed to have been stolen by Manley.

Sheriff Fowler said Manley implicated himself in numerous thefts out of Weatherford, Fort Worth and from a motor sales company in Lake Worth on several occasions.

Lake Worth police made the arrest and Manley’s being held in the Tarrant County Jail. He’s facing charges of theft and criminal mischief.

“This is just another example of how joint-agency cooperation has proved to be successful,” said Sheriff Fowler.
