The most profitable airline in the U.S. is losing tons of money.

Atlanta (WBAP/KLIF) – Delta Airlines, the biggest commercial carrier in the United States, reports it lost $534 million in the first quarter. Bad as those first quarter numbers are, Delta predicts its revenue in this quarter, will be 90% less than last year, and there’s no recovery in sight. There are 75% fewer commercial flights today than there were a year ago, and those airliners that are in the air are averaging only about 12 passengers each. As of today, Delta is losing $100 million a day, and it’s the biggest, most profitable airline in the country.
