Texas COVID-19: Spreading Across North Texas; Ellis County Reports First Case

Ellis County, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Ellis County has it’s first presumptive positive coronavirus patient

A Maypearl woman in her 70s showed signs of the illness after going to a hospital to get tested for a stroke.

It’s believed to be a case of community spread, as the patient has no former travel history; she’s isolated at home with her family.

Meantime, Ellis County Judge Todd Little, issued a community gathering restriction order limiting public and private gatherings to no more than 50 people.

The order does not include restaurants, grocery stores, retail establishments, and essential services.

Dallas County reporting 9 new cases of coronavirus, ranging in ages from 20 to 70; 5 believed to be community spread.

A DISD middle school student was also infected.

Clearing up a misconception about the illness, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins says any age group is affected, but it’s more deadly in people aged 80 and over.

There are 129 confirmed coronavirus cases, 2 deaths in Texas.
