Heights Richardson Church Hosting Drive Thru Food Drive to Help Those Impacted by Coronavirus

RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF)- The Heights Church in Richardson is holding a Drive Thru Food Drive March 16 – March 18 to collect non-perishable food, paper products and diapers for families in need during this difficult time in our community.

Canned food, macaroni & cheese, canned fruit, pasta, paper products and diapers can be dropped off Monday, March 16 – Wednesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m, in the drive thru at the church’s main entrance to their atrium and worship center. The drive thru will also be open 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.

“Food pantries are now having a tremendous shortage because stores don’t have this excess to give anymore so it really makes the problem for the vulnerable people in our community much worse…especially as schools are closed and they can’t get the meals from school,” said Richard Covington, The Heights Missions Pastor.

Convington says it is the churches duty to serve and help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and will do whatever they can.

“We are also offering grocery delivery to those who can’t get out to pick up their own right now. If you need assistance, or would like to help us in our mission, email us at [email protected].”

The Heights Church is located at 201 W. Renner Road at U.S. 75 (Central Expressway) in Richardson. More information about the church is available at theheights.org.
