Plano Woman Accused of Selling Alcohol to Three Teens Killed in Fiery Crash

PLANO  (WBAP/KLIF News) – There’s been an arrest stemming from the fiery car crash that killed three Plano teens last month.

Plano Police arrested 36-year-old Yu Gao, a waitress at Focus BBQ on West Springcreek Parkway, for allegedly selling alcohol to the boys in the early morning hours of February 17th.

The three teens were killed a short time later when the BMW sedan they were riding in veered out of control, hit two trees, split in half, traveled more than 100 feet before exploding into flames.

The driver was identified as 18-year-old Yuxuan Wang. The passengers were identified as 16-year-old Yuchen Jen and 18-year-old Jin Chen.

The department’s David Tilley said Gao wasn’t present at the crash but she may have caused the accident.

“Our next step is going to be her trial. That’s going to be determined by the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. They will move forward and determine whether or not she is a factor and that will be determined by a judge or a jury,” he said.

No trial date has been set.

Gao faces three charges of selling alcohol to minors and selling alcoholic beverages during prohibited hours.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is investigating Focus BBQ as well.
