Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Sunday morning’s implosion of a vacant 11 story Dallas office tower did not go as planned. The plan was to set off a series of explosions inside the building on Haskell Avenue at Central Expressway. Knock it into a pile of rubble; then clear away the rubble, and start construction on a new development. The explosions went off alright. They did collapse most of the building, but not the central stack which contains the elevator shaft and utilities. That is still standing, although it’s leaning to the east about 15 degrees or so. The demolition crew says it’s in no danger of falling, but now they’ve got to work out what they can do about it.
