UPDATE: 30-year old Meagan Darling, (pictured left) has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Denton Friday night.
Friends of the mother of four told WFAA-TV that she had just kicked he on-again, off-again boyfriend out of her new house just hours before she was fatally shot.
Denton Police say the suspect, 28-year old Xavier Patterson (pictured right) called 9-1-1, then hung. Officers found him when they responded to the hang-up call at that location on Carrigan Lane.
Patterson is the father of two of Darling’s 4 children.

DENTON – WBAP/KLIF – Denton Police continue to investigate an apparent homicide by gunshot after a hang up call to 911 led them to a home on Carrigan Lane led them to discovery of a dead woman with a gunshot wounded inside a home.
Police say in searching the residence, they found an injured man and took him to an area hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. After he was released, he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
28 year old Xavier Patterson is held in the Denton County Jail. Name of the deceased victim is not yet released. Additional charges may be filed.
