(WBAP/KLIF) – Former Obama housing secretary Julian Castro ended his run for president on Thursday.
The Texan and former Mayor of San Antonio made the announcement in a video posted to social media.
“It’s with profound gratitude to all of our supporters that I suspend my campaign for president today,” said Castro. “I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. I’m going to keep fighting for an America where everyone counts—I hope you’ll join me in that fight.”
Castro struggled to surpass around 1% in the polls throughout his campaign. He was reportedly running low on campaign funds. It’s unclear what the Texas Democrat will do next.
