HOUSTON (AP) – A Houston man serving a life sentence for a 2010 fatal stabbing has been freed on bond while authorities reinvestigate his case, including new DNA evidence that his lawyers say exonerates him. Lydell Grant was convicted in 2012 and sentenced to life in prison for the killing of Aaron Scheerhoorn outside a Houston club. Grant’s attorneys say new DNA testing points to another suspect. Grant was released from custody Tuesday afternoon after a judge granted him a $100,000 bond.
