Microsoft Expands Operations in Las Colinas, New Tech Center Brings over 550 Jobs

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF)- Microsoft expands it’s operations in North Texas, bringing over 550 jobs to the area.

The Microsoft campus in Las Colinas opened in 2001 but with a $31 million investment, they were able to complete a campus expansion this week with the Microsoft Technology Center.

Campus director Raamel Mitchell said the Las Colinas Campus is the second largest behind the company’s headquarters in Redmond, VA. However the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Las Colinas is now the largest in the country. Mitchell said the MTC supports ideation and innovation for Microsoft’s customers and partners.

“Las Colinas has provided us an opportunity to grow and expand our presence and it’s such a good area for talent, giving us the ability to recruit local talent,” said Mitchell.

Hiring is underway, positions range from sales, services, customer support and positions for the U.S. Delivery Team.

The expansion follows a wave of tech companies making investments in North Texas like Uber technologies who plans to open a hub in Dallas in 2022.
