HOUSTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Houston Astros fell behind late and could not recover as the Washington Nationals won the first World Series in franchise history, defeating Houston in Game 7. Early on it looked as though the Astros were on their way to their second title in three years as they led 2-1 but it wasn’t meant to be as the Nationals took the lead in the seventh inning. It was Houston’s second World Series appearance in three years. The last time a team from Washington won the Series was in 1924.
