(WBAP/KLIF) UPDATE 5:07PM

Day 3 of Amber Guyger’s murder trial ended just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Wednesday afternoon focused on expert testimony about the trajectory of the bullet that killed Botham Jean.

Both the prosecution and defense pressed the Dallas County Medical Examiner on where the bullet hit Botham Jean and where he landed to determine what exactly he was doing when he was shot. Guyger claims he was moving toward her. The Doctor said the bullet hit Jean above the left nipple but that the way he landed doesn’t necessarily indicate what he was doing when he was shot.
A crime scene Analyst took the stand describing the scene to the jury. Videos and photos from the scene were shown during her testimony.
Legal experts believe the state could rest as early as Thursday afternoon.

(WBAP/KLIF) UPDATE 1:16PM

The Judge in the Amber Guyger murder trial will not allow certain testimony from a lead investigator.

Texas Ranger David Armstrong said without the jury present that he doesn’t believe Guyger committed a crime. Prosecutor Jason Hermus says Armstrong’s “opinion” is not beneficial to a jury.
Judge Tammy Kemp ruled that Armstrong cannot testify about that opinion or about where he thinks Jean was in the apartment when he was shot.

(WBAP/KLIF) UPDATE 11:11AM

DPS investigator David Armstrong testified that he found trying to enter the wrong apartment isn’t uncommon in that complex. He said he interviewed the majority of residents at the Southside Flats Apartments. 15% of residents said they had put their key in someone else’s door at least once. 23% of residents on floors 3 and 4 where Jean and Guyger lived said they have gone to the wrong apartment.

Armstrong said Jean’s lock had a default and the door was not closed all the way when Guyger came in.
