One of the animals in a new Dallas Zoo exhibit has been killed by the others

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Zoo confirms an African Painted Dog that was found dead in her enclosure was killed by her pack mates. Ola, an 8 year old female African Painted Dog who was brought to the Dallas Zoo less than a month ago was dead in her enclosure Thursday morning. The Zoo confirms she was killed during the early morning hours by her pack mates, a pair of brothers. The Zoo stresses things seemed to be going well until Ola was attacked. The keepers insist the dogs did nothing wrong. They live within a complex social structure, and aggressive battles over dominance are normal for them. It’s just the way they are.
