Murphy (WBAP/KLIF) – The Collin County city of Murphy is urging residents in part of the town to boil their water before using it. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ordered the warning Friday because of what was described as a failure in Murphy’s water distribution system. The affected area is generally west and north of the city’s municipal complex, Murphy Middle School, and McMillen High School. The city has a detailed map of the affected area on its websote. The North Texas Municipal Water District is testing for contaminants, and hopes to have results Saturday afternoon.
