All Grapevine Lake Parks and Boat Ramps Closed Due to High Lake Levels, Flooding

GRAPEVINE (WBAP/KLIF)- The city of Grapevine closed all parks and boat ramps near Grapevine Lake because of excessive flooding from heavy rainfall. Kevin Mitchell Director of Parks and Recreation said currently the lake is almost 17 feet over normal pool and could rise depending on the weather. “Every single park near the lake is underwater, there’s no parking and the structures underwater is a public safety issue,” Mitchell said.
The City of Grapevine urges people to avoid  any Grapevine Lake park until further notice. These areas are mainly inaccessible and considered dangerous
“Structures, pavilions, signs fences, electrical components and poles are all under water and it’s not safe,” he said.

Currently Oak Grove Park, Lake Pointe Park, Horseshoe Trials Park, Lakeview Park, Katie’s Woods and Meadowmere Park are closed.Mitchell said marinas are still open but tells boaters to stay at least .25 miles from the shoreline to avoid danger or damage from submerged structures. Visit GoGrapevine.com to view the Grapevine Lake Hazards Map.
