Two Teenagers Arrested in Shooting Near Mesquite High School

MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF) – Two teenagers are charged in a shooting this week near Mesquite High School that left one person hurt.

According to Mesquite Police, the Thursday shooting happened just blocks from Mesquite high school at 120 West Main Street. The school went on lockdown when two people were seen running from the shooting toward the school.

“A witness observed two male subjects running from the scene in the direction of Mesquite High School,” Lt. Stephen Biggs said.

One of those teenagers was 17-year-old Treveon Simms-Hubbard. The other, wasn’t involved in the shooting. But Police later arrested 17-year-old Dwayne Lassai of Seagoville for his involvement in the crime. Both teens are charged with Deadly Conduct.

Police say the victim is expected to survive.
