One person was injured over the weekend when a house exploded into flames on the southwest side of Fort Worth near Benbrook. A painter was working inside the house Saturday evening when it suddenly caught fire. He was taken by air ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment of apparently serious burns. The house was fully involved when firefighters arrived, and was destroyed by the fire. Tarrant County’s Deputy Fire Marshal later noted there are no fire hydrants in the upscale, gated community near the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1187 and Bella Flora Drive. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it investigators believe it probably started when paint fumes were touched off by a spark of unknown origin.
