Wounded state trooper released from Frisco hospital

Frisco (WBAP/KLIF) – A Texas state trooper who was shot in a Frisco apartment complex parking lot a week ago has been released from the hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Trooper Traveres Webb was shot march 29 after he tried to stop a motorist on the Dallas North Tollway. That driver fled, leading Webb to the La Valencia at Starwood apartments parking lot in Frisco where the fleeing suspect opened fire. Webb was hit, and rushed to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He was released Friday to finish his recuperation at home. The Department of Public Safety says trooper Webb faces a long recovery, but remains in good spirits. The man who was arrested for shooting him faces an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
