DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Fire Rescue battled a four-alarm apartment fire Friday afternoon in Northwest Dallas.
The blaze took out Forest West Condominiums at 3022 Forest Lane near LBJ Freeway and I-35E.
There were no reported injuries however 40 people are without homes. American Red Cross DFW has been notified and will assist these people. “The building had multiple internal collapses so at this point we have ordered heavy equipment and we will have the building torn down,” Jason Evans with Dallas Fire Rescue. Evans says luckily the fire did not ruin electrical for the remaining buildings in the complex.
Forest Lane was closed between Webb Chapel and Josey Lane because of thick smoke in the area.
Evans said they put out the fire as much as possible but will stay on scene to put out remaining hot spots burning inside. It will be torn down as soon as possible.
