Snyder (WBAP/KLIF) A police officer in the town of Snyder, Texas some 70 miles northwest of Abilene shot and killed a man during a confrontation. Snyder’s police chief says officer Whitney Merket was responding to a report of a suspicious person when she got into an altercation with the suspect. It grew heated, and Merket wound up shooting and killing the suspect. Merket is a seven year veterans of the Snyder Police. She is now on administrative leave while the Texas Rangers investigate.
