An execution date has been set for a notorious Texas murderer

Jasper (WBAP/KLIF) – An execution date has been set for the second of three white men convicted of a notorious murder twenty years ago. John William King will be put to death by lethal injection April 24. He and two others chained a mentally disabled black man to the back of a pickup truck in 1998, and dragged him to death near the east Texas town of Jasper. One of the other two has already been executed. The third is serving a life sentence. In October, the U.S. Supreme court denied King’s appeal. He claimed he had ineffective lawyers during his trial.
