ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- An Arlington behavioral hospital has been indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury on 9 criminal counts for violating Texas mental health codes.
The Sundance System Corporation is charged with holding 4 patients involuntarily and illegally at the Arlington behavioral health facility for longer than 2 days. Criminal District attorney Sharen Wilson says Sundance is further charged with violating the Texas mental health code for not allowing them to leave. “These offenses were a corporate failure, and the corporation must be held accountable,” Wilson said.
The punishment range for the charges carries up to a $100,000 fine for each day.
