Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Funding is in place for a 64-mile hike and bike trail connecting Fort Worth to Dallas.
David Creek with the City of Fort Worth calls it “a milestone,” telling the Star-telegram, “In a few years you’ll be able to go all the way from Highway 377 in Benbrook to Dallas.”
Already voter-approved bonds will help foot the nearly 40-million dollar cost, along with traditional federal transportation funds. Other funds come from federal credits to cities that have invested in toll roads.
The target date for the trail is fall 2023.
