Allred Asks Sessions for Televised Debate in Congressional Race

(WBAP/KLIF) – Congressman Pete Sessions’ democratic challenger in the race for Congress is calling for a televised debate.

Colin Allred sent a letter to Sessions asking for at least one televised debate before early voting opens October 22nd to allow let voters make informed choices on what he called “a level playing field.

A post on Allred’s website read; “In his debate challenge, Allred outlined that at least one televised debate should occur before the start of early-voting on October 22nd and that debates must cover a full range of the issues this campaign will be waged around.”

Congressman Sessions’ campaign released the below statement:

“The Congressman has  always believed in being open, transparent, and accessible and that is why he was happy to participate in a debate with Colin two weeks ago and is looking forward to have the opportunity to engage in two more debates later this month that will both be open to the public and the press.”

No specific dates and times have been given for future debates.
