Richland Hills Police Department Gets New Chief of Police

RICHLAND HILLS (WBAP/ KLIF News) – Kimberly L. Sylvester of Richland Hills Police Department will be sworn in as Chief of Police at the Ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Sylvester sent us a statement saying, “I am very honored to have been selected by Mr. Strong for the opportunity to serve as Police Chief for the City of Richland Hills and continue working towards the vision that has been set by city leadership. Serving after the long-tenured legacy of Chief Childress is also very humbling. My goals for the department are to build off of existing community partnerships, expansion of service capabilities through responsiveness, accountability and transparency beyond strict crime control, innovative resource programming and use of technology as well as enhanced opportunity for employee development and their contribution to the set goals of the city. I am looking forward to working with our citizens, city leadership and fellow city employees to continue in keeping Richland Hills a safe and enjoyable community to live and raise a family.”

The ceremony is at the LINK facility on 6750 Baker Boulevard in Richland Hills.

The event will be from 3pm-5pm.
