Denton, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Northwest ISD English teacher was sentenced to six years behind bars after pleading guilty to having sex with a student.
28-year olf Katherine Harper was accused of having multiple sexual encounters with a 15-year old boy in her Fort Worth home, and at his home in Trophy Club last summer.
According to the arrest affidavit, Harper was a teacher at Tidwell Middle School in Roanoke and the boy was one of her students.
The illicit relationship began when the two began texting — to include nude photos, which the teen saved on his cell phone.
Documents say that Harper eventually went to the teen’s home in Trophy Club where they began drink and taking off their clothes.
After serving her prison sentence, Harper will serve 10-month probation, after which time she must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
