Hundreds are showing up in to Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall for the funeral service for fallen Dallas Police Officer Rogelio Santander.
He was killed in the line of duty one week ago while responding to a theft call at a Northeast Dallas Home Depot.
Officer John Hanley who traveled from with the Suffolk County PD in New Yorks to attend the funeral says he came with the Brotherhood of the Fallen to honor one of their own.

Officers from around the country are rolling into Dallas to attend the final farewell for slain Dallas Police Officer Rogelio Santander. The 27-year old, 3-year veteran of the force died a day after suffering gunshot wounds to the back of the head during a shoplifting call at the Northeast Dallas Home Depot.
Santander’s funeral service gets underway at 11am at the Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall.
Officer John Hanley of Suffolk County, NY told our Scott Sidway he came this morning “because one officer’s death impacts police everywhere.”

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Large black buses with police logos have begun arriving outside the Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, carrying police officers and others who will be attending the funeral of slain Dallas officer Rogelio Santander.

It was a week ago today that Officer Santander was shot at a Home Depot in Northeast Dallas.
Thousands are expected to be in attendance, including officers from across the country.

Meantime, Santander’s partner Chrystal Ameida and a Home Depot civilian security officers continue to recover from wounds suffered during the incident.
