ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Arlington has declined a permit for the organizers of the Martin Luther King, Jr. event Monday to hold their advertised parade.
That Thursday night from Arlington citing a failure to meet requirements dealing with event planning and security.
The city, in a statement, says they notified organizers Thursday and had given several deadline extensions. Jay Warren, the Marketing and Communications manager for the city says the decision will not be reconsidered.
Arlington’s Advancing the Dream Celebration is still taking place as scheduled Friday through Monday.
