FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – North Texans who love to shop have a new destination in the Metroplex.
The Tanger Outlets of Fort Worth had its grand opening on Friday and the center offers patrons 75 upscale stores including Tommy Hilfiger, Restoration Hardware, Banana Republic and H&M to browse through.
CEO Steve Tanger said the outlets will provide a significant boost to the local economy.
“We created 400 jobs during the construction jobs during the construction phase and we created 900 well-paying jobs in retail on an ongoing basis within the 75 stores,” he said.
Tanger said he hopes the center becomes a shopping destination for residents who live within and outside the Metroplex.
“Everybody knows where the Speedway is located and we’re right next to Buccee’s which is a well-known beacon for those traveling the highway system. Fort Worth is a very large city under served by any outlets. I think we’re going to get a combination of people living in the Metroplex. We certainly welcome travelers to the area,” he said.
The outlets will lure shoppers with discounts on merchandise anywhere from 20 to 70 percent.
The Fort Worth Location is one of 43 Tanger Premium Outlet centers nationwide.
