AAA Texas Reports Dallas Has Highest Average Gas Price Per Gallon in Texas

Triple A Gas Prices Chart

DALLAS, (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas was in national news earlier this week,as the Dallas Cowboys were named the #1 most valuable sports franchise, well that’s not the only thing the city leads.

According to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, Dallas has the highest average price per gallon in Texas.

Dallas drivers are paying on average $2.11 per gallon at the gas pump, followed by Fort Worth at $2.10 per gallon.

“Drivers are beginning to see increased prices at the pump mainly due to increased demand as a result of cheaper prices than usual for the summer driving season,” said AAA Texas’ Daniel Armbruster.

Armbruster said that even though Dallas/Fort Worth ranks #1 in gas prices, Texas drivers are still enjoying some of the lowest gas prices in the country. The national gas average per gallon is $2.26.

“The abundant supply coming from Libya and Nigeria is what’s adding to the sustained oversupply globally and keeping gas prices relatively low,” said Armbruster.

Analyst say a slight price increase in gas price could happen throughout the month of July, but we could see prices dropping again by as soon as the Fall season.
