DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Several San Antonio Police Officers who may not have been able to attend funeral services for one of their own, will now be going thanks to Dallas Police.
Twenty Dallas Police Officers will take over patrols in San Antonio to allow officers to lay to rest Officer Miguel Moreno who was killed in a shootout.
“They started their shift at 1 p.m. Thursday and will be working both Thursday and Friday so that Officers from the West Division can go to the services,” said Mike Mata, President of the Dallas Police Association.
Mata said the Dallas Police Department is returning a good deed after San Antonio sent 50 officers to Dallas after last year’s Police ambush.
“They worked shifts for us so that Officers here go to the burials of our five,” said Mata. “I thought it was only right that we do the same for them.”
The Dallas Police Officers will return to Dallas after their Friday shifts.
