DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Former Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill is to be released from federal prison.
His sentence will be commuted to time served because he has been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.
U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn approved a motion filed this week.
WFAA-TV reports Hill was serving 18 years in prison after being found guilty of bribery and extortion out of his 2009 corruption case.
Hill is expected to live with his brother in DeSoto. He has a life expectancy of less than 18 months.
