It is no secret to anyone that knows me that biking around Dallas/Fort Worth is one of my favorite past times.
While I am riding, I am not thinking about any work or life stress. I am relaxing, breathing the fresh air and admiring the beautiful scenery. One of my favorite places to go biking is White Rock Lake.
It’s not a long journey. It’s about 15 miles from my apartment building to White Rock and back…that’s with one trip around the entire lake.
You’ll see the gorgeous water, majestic boats, beautiful homes, wonderful foliage and it’s good for people watching too.
I was just there Wednesday afternoon and it was just what I needed after a long workday.
I could go on and on about the many reasons you should check it out but I will let these pictures speak for themselves.
While looking at these pictures, I am reminded about one of my favorite quotes about nature. It’s by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”
I have always believed that White Rock Lake is one of Dallas’ hidden gems. For a moment, you’re able to forget that your in the city.
Try it…you’ll be happy that you did.
