SAN MARCOS (WBAP/KLIF News) – An official university investigation into the Texas State University fraternity part where a student from Burleson died revealed an out of control party that was a recipe for disaster.
Jordin Talyor was fatally hit and dragged more than 500 feet by a shuttle bus that was leaving the Cool River Ranch, southeast of San Marcus, last October.
Official university documents stated that numerous people were found passed out at the venue and vomit was found in the bathrooms.
Police shut down the party after receiving numerous noise complaints and first responders were called due to excessive drinking.
Since then, the university has punished several fraternities for their involvement in the party, which drew a crowd of almost 3,000 people.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Alpha Tau Omega received a three-year suspension after allegedly lying to school officials about serving beer and boxed wine at the event.
Pi Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Order and Delta Tau Delta were also suspended for the alcohol violations.
