ROWLETT (WBAP/KLIF News) The water tower in Rowlett that became an icon of the tornado-ravaged town was torn down Monday. While the tower on Martha Lane took a direct hit from the December 2015 twister, it stayed erect but has since become unstable. Crews cut the base to guide the tower down. The city downplayed the event out of respect to victims. No plans have yet been made for the tower site.
