CARROLLTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police in Carrollton said an officer shot and killed a man who was believed to have been part of a sex-trafficking ring.
Officers were called overnight to the InTown Suites, an extended-stay hotel on Trinity Mills near I-35E and the George Bush Turnpike.

A woman told police a man had been holding her against her will as part of a sex trafficking operation. SWAT responded to the scene when the suspect refused to come out of his room.
He emerged around 8:30 a.m. with a gun in his waistband. Police said he initially had his hands in the air, but then reached for the gun. Officers fired at him, striking him in the shoulder and chest. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The man had warrants on a felony assault charge, according to police. He was accused of strangling a family member.
No officers were hurt.
