ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) – The North Texas Tollway Authority will consider names for a stretch of Highway 360 under construction in South Arlington.

Michael Rey with the NTTA said there are two front-runners.  “Both the Texas Ranger Tollway and the Johnson Station Tollway are up for consideration.”  Rey said it’s not “Texas Rangers” as in the Major League Baseball Team.  “This is most definitely a nod to the rich historic legacy of the Texas Ranger.  The figure that kept the peace around Texas for nearly two centuries and it continues to this day,” said Rey.

The other Johnson Station is a reference to the Texas Ranger Station that was established near there in the 1840s.

The road is expected to open in late 2017, early 2018.  “It’ll be here before you know it,” said Rey.
