Cedar Hill (WBAP/KLIF News) – Authorities are searching for a man that allegedly killed one person during an overnight shooting spree in Cedar Hill and South Dallas.
The Cedar Hill Police Department’s Lieutenant Collin Chenault said the suspect allegedly shot at a woman’s car near South Broad Street and West Beltline Road around 11:03 p.m on Sunday.
He said the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries, most likely from shattered glass. Chenault said a second car near that intersection was also shot at but no one was injured.
The suspect then allegedly shot and killed a man during a carjacking at a nearby Texaco gas station near South Highway 67 and Cooper St. Chenault said the suspect then ditched the car, broke into a nearby home and stole the owner’s four-door silver Lexus. The license plate number on the car is DPG6380.
“If anyone sees this vehicle, don’t approach it at all. Please contact local law enforcement immediately. Just stay away and be a good witness because we consider this man extremely dangerous,” said Chenault.
He said the suspect’s actions were a fast-paced and dangerous chain of events.
“It certainly tells us that he’s desperate and obviously willing to do whatever it takes to get away up to and including killing another person,” said Chenault. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his early 20s. Chenault said he is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build and dark hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Cedar Hill Police Department or 911.
