FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Fort Worth Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its K9s.

“Paxo” had to be put down Wednesday because of a serious illness.

The five-year-old German Shepard was a “duel purpose K9,” meaning he could sniff out drugs and take down bad guys.

“Paxo” had been with the department for about three years.

He was paired up with Officer Chris Jones after Jones’ K9 partner, “Talon,” died in 2014.

Fort Worth PD took to social media to pay tribute to “Paxo.”
