After more than four decades of keeping people informed it’s time for me to call it quits…at least on a full time basis.
For the past three years I’ve called WBAP and KLIF home. Worked with some very talented people but getting up every morning at one a-m to prepare the news stories you hear while driving to work wears a person down after a while.
Only being able to see my wife Ceil for an hour a night is the toughest part, although it does make our weekends special.
I’ve always been a morning person and probably will continue to be although the extra four hours of sleep should help me last longer throughout the day.
A big thanks to operations manager Tyler Cox and news director Freda Ross for giving me a chance to be part of something special. To the morning crew at WBAP your friendship means more than I can say.
On KLIF, Amy, Dave and Kristin I hope things flowed a little easier because of my efforts.
To street reporters Alan Scaia and the new kid on the block, Scott Sidway, keep those live shots and voicers coming.
My last “full time” day will be July 30th. Between now and then I hope we’ll be able to touch base through the airwaves.
