AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles has approved an increase in what drivers will pay for registration renewals.
The $4.75 hike is being called a processing and handling fee and will be placed on renewals done in person or through the mail. Before any county fees, the total price will be $55.50.
If you renew on-line the cost will drop a quarter.
The new prices are set to go into effect January first.
