Gator Found at Dallas School

Gator 1 DPDDALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Quite a surprise for a Dallas patrol officer.

Early Wednesday morning he spotted a six-to-seven foot alligator on the grounds of Steam middle school on South Polk street near Danieldale road.

Other officers along with the department’s helicopter were also called to the scene, along with animal control.

Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife game wardens used a pole with a noose on the end it to capture the gator. It will be taken to a local wildlife preserve.

Officials think the alligator made its way onto the property from the nearby Trinity river.
