With Mother’s Day weekend behind us now, just like every year at this time, I began to question
whether it’s really necessary. You see I think that mothers should be shown special treatment
everyday and not just one day a year.
However, every year, after seeing so many fathers and children at Target or Walmart or wherever, laughing
and smiling as they find flowers and candy and cards for that special mom, I realize that Mother’s Day isn’t
just for mothers. It’s for husbands and children too because if we’re blessed enough to have a
mother in our lives who takes care of us everyday with no complaints, She should be treated extra
special on that one day. Shower her with gifts and candy and love and anything else you can think of
because she’s our mom and she’s worth it.
Now, when it comes to Father’s Day, it’s a whole different story. We get a card, a tie and a kiss and
that’s alright with me because afterall, I didn’t have to go through any pain during childbirth. In fact, my part
was all fun so here’s hoping everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend.
