Robbie Hoy 4/12/16; So Long…

Robbie Hoy Head ShotI’ve been in broadcasting for ten years and I’ve had the chance to cover a wide range of stories.  From some of the most heartbreaking, sad stories to encouraging and uplifting.

After ten years in this business, I’m moving on.  I’ve accepted a job with the City of Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau on their communications staff.

This has been an unbelievable run I’ve had and I cannot thank everyone at WBAP/KLIF News for the opportunity I was given here in DFW.  When I interned for WBAP in 2005, I never thought I would actually get to work at this station with a solid news team like this. But, for the last 18 months, I’ve had that chance and it’s been incredible.

I hope the stories I’ve done for you have been informative and that you learned something, because I learned something each day that I worked here.  That knowledge and those skills will follow me the rest of my life.  While I won’t be in the news business anymore, my new career will keep me involved with news and maybe you’ll still hear me on WBAP/KLIF from time to time promoting an event for Grapevine.

I won’t miss covering that tragic stories like storm damage or violent crimes, but I will miss telling the stories of everyday people like you, the listener.  I’ll miss getting to meet people and find out what interests them and then telling their story.

I don’t like to say goodbye, so I’ll just say see you again, sometime.
