Dallas Police are getting the help they asked for

Dallas PD LogoDALLAS – Representatives from DART Police, Marshals, Constables, DPS and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department attended a “brainstorming” meeting at Dallas Police Headquarters. “The meeting was to discuss a collaborative effort to reduce crime,” Dallas police said in a statement. “The plan is evolving and has not been finalized. We look forward to working together to make the city safer.”  Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez said the plan calls for other agencies to help Dallas police saturate high crime areas in an effort to reduce a recent rise in violent crimes.  She said the plan does not call for deputies to work overtime, so it will not cost taxpayers more money.  No plans were finalized, but Valdez says the collaborative effort could begin as early as next week. “I’ve been with the county over 25 years,” said Constable Roy Williams. “What I’m seeing is an effort to work together collectively, the city and the county, and I don’t ever recall that.”
