Another member of the WBAP Morning News team is celebrating a milestone anniversary this week.
Monday, February 1, 2016, marks Steve Lamb’s 30th anniversary doing sports for morning listeners on WBAP. Steve Joins Hal Jay, Brian Estridge, Marlee McCormick and Brad Barton each morning with the latest in sports scores, news and opinions as part of the WBAP Morning News. He has the longest uninterrupted weekday tenure of any radio sports figure in Texas history.
Not bad for a guy who wears Oklahoma Sooners shirts!
Steve was born in St. Louis where he grew up a big Cardinals baseball fan before his parents moved to Oklahoma where he graduated from the University of Oklahoma. After working in the Sooner state he landed in Texas in 1986 and he’s been part of WBAP ever since. Lamb has been honored multiple times during the past 30 years by the Associated Press, Dallas Press Club and United Press International.
When he isn’t working, Steve enjoys golf, hunting and riding motorcycles. He and his wife Deborah, morning anchor at NBC-5, also love to travel and spend time with their nieces and nephews.
Join us in congratulating Steve for 30 years on 820!
