When it comes to the “New normal” that has been walking two blocks to work from a parking garage dodging construction cones and getting used to additional traffic lights, today’s experience of almost being hit by a car certainly takes the cake. And, when taking the cake, please watch out for the other cakes crossing the street.
Walking out of the parking garage, I see a large black SUV with a uniformed driver inching toward me. The driver is clearly not paying any attention so I wait to cross. Driver stops. I begin to cross. Driver slowly accelerates the vehicle again. I jump back.
What the?!?!?!?!?!
Quoting a very agitated George Costanza, “WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY!”
I seriously try to look at the good things in life such as sandwiches and those drinks with the little umbrellas sticking out of them but this time I’m calling on the world….. and Victory Park….. to take a breath and look around.
Please.
