I had been getting notices that my cable signal was going digital and I needed to order a box if I wanted to keep getting a signal.
I ordered and received the boxes and put one in. I have not gotten around to the other two yet. I did notice that my digital TV is getting the slide that says something about getting my picture back. I found this strange since the TV is digital.
When I called my cable supplier, they told me the signal was not digital because my neighborhood has not been upgraded yet and even my digital TV needs a box. I was also told the boxes were designed to make sure you only receive the channels that are in your package and they would prevent cable theft.
So which is it? A digital picture or a way to make sure you are only getting what you are supposed to? The technician told me it was really designed to prevent cable theft.
So my digital TV will have to have a converter box so it can get an analog signal, according to the representative I spoke with. But that won’t be a problem since I am switching to a different provider later this week.
