In my quest to chase after stories and be inspired by new ideas, I was introduced to a wonderful place over a recent warm Texas weekend. It was not at all obvious, there was no sign directing you to it, but it was there waiting for the lucky adventurer and it was beautiful. I call it the place of two downtowns. Nestled completely inconspicuously, tucked away in an unceremonious midsection of DFW, is a cliff. A cliff where, if you have access to it, you can stop along the edge over the water, and peer out over North Texas. In the distance to the east, is the famous Dallas skyline. That alone, is breathtaking because AT&A Stadium is also visible slightly to the south. But look to the west, and what a thrilling surprise. There lies the beauty of downtown Fort Worth. Cowtown and the Big D, both in sight with just a simple turn of the head and the blessing of a clear day.
I can’t wait to learn what other treasures this land I call home has to offer. It’s there to be discovered – IF you get out and look for it.
